This page basically shows which articles I’m currently reading on the web.

It allows me to share with my readers a sort of press review, strongly related to the topics I generally write about, while creating a useful archive for picking out useful information at a later time.

Of course I don’t update this page manually: I’m able to feed it through the Share button while browsing Google Reader, thanks to a great Wordpress plug-in.

  • Amazon Unveils $.99 Fox And ABC TV Show Purchases. Apple Fanboys say wha?
    Published: September 1, 2010
Whoa, this came out of left-field. Amazon just announced that its Video on demand service will be serving up $.99 ABC and Fox rentals just like Apple wait, no, these are $.99 per episode — like you actually own the content rather than just having a short window to watch. Plus, it’s not just limited to one platform as Amazon Video on demand is widely available a bunch of products. This could be huge and might take some sales away from the new Apple TV. Steve touted the new $.99 rentals as one of the main features of the Apple TV and I could...
  • Apple TV vs. the competition -- how does it stack up?
    Published: September 1, 2010
Although it's only just been revealed and won't actually go on sale for four long weeks, Apple's new hockey puck is far from the only media streamer on the market -- and with Sony's Netbox and the Boxee Box on the way, the sub-$200 set-top box market is exploding with options. So let's line up the revised Apple TV against the (post-price cut) Roku HD-XR, Popbox, and even an LG Blu-ray player in the same price range and see what you're actually getting -- and more importantly, getting access to -- on each device. Oh, and there's some choice wor...

  • Amazon planning subscription video service to challenge Netflix and Hulu?
    Published: September 1, 2010
Looks like one company's not ready to let Apple claim the spotlight with tomorrow's rumored $99 iOS-based Apple TV launch -- the Wall Street Journal reports that Amazon has a subscription-based streaming video service in the works. Reportedly focused on older content more easily pried from the iron fist of traditional media (similar to Netflix Watch Instantly and Hulu Plus), the service is aimed at the usual array of internet-connected devices -- the Xbox 360 was called out specifically -- and one anonymous source told the publication that Ama...

  • Sure, People Will Buy 'Connected TVs,' But Will Anyone Actually Use Them?
    Published: August 30, 2010
I’m a big fan of the “digital home,” even if the phrase itself has slipped from popular use lately. I cannot wait for it to happen to me—I’ll have connected displays (does the word TV even apply anymore?) throughout the house, including the ones in my pocket, in my lap, or otherwise within reach at all times. Those displays will all speak IP, the language of the internet, and they’ll all speak to each other as well, allowing me to control one display—say, my TV—...
